We’re not quite sure when aesthetically pleasing bulletin boards became quite “a thing” at schools. But definitely ever since I can remember, school hallways have been peppered with colorful, neat bulletin boards from the entrance to the exit.
Fast-forward to when I first became a teacher and I was given a lot of hand-me-downs from retired teachers. These fat stacks included thick letters for bulletin boards. Well, you can already imagine the condition of these old and well-intentioned card stock letters … but I wish I had known about this Canva bulletin board lettering tip for cute letters before I tried hand-tracing my own new, “fresh” letters!
TikToker @preschoolpackets created this video to ensure no one else had to use out-of-date card stock bulletin board lettering (maybe from the 1980s?!) or hand-trace cute fonts. Take a look:
I love how many font options Canva has for each niche bulletin board lettering too! We all know the undefined and unspoken pressure of making each bulletin board as cute or aesthetically pleasing as possible, and all these fonts make the task much easier! Please be sure to watch @preschoolpackets‘ video as many times as you need to see how she maximizes the letter sizes to perfect the bulletin boards.

I do like the fonts that Canva already provides in the Teacher Pro settings, but there are a lot more fonts available from TPT. Oh, the font possibilities!
I wondered this myself. As someone who is big into decreasing waste (yes, I still cherished those hand-me-down letters!), I would probably print on card stock and laminate each of the letters I used to save for another time.
Later down in another comment, she credits her hand-cutting (even over her Cricut!)
And there is the biggest concern I had. As many teachers know, access to a color printer is a rarity! If that’s the case, check out the next comment.
Sounds like a game-changer for these bulletin board lettering projects!
