A new rumor suggests Apple’s redesigned Mac mini with M4 chip might launch as soon as this week.
Apple has several M4-powered Macs in the pipeline, including the M4 iMac and MacBook Pros. They are all expected to debut by the end of October.
Multiple reports have detailed Apple’s plans to launch a revamped Mac mini this year. The machine will sport an all-new design and use a faster and more efficient M4 chip. It will supposedly be smaller and more compact than the current Mac mini.
Apple will apparently offer a high-end M4 Pro variant featuring 5 USB-C ports, giving up on USB-A entirely. Apple will place two USB-C ports on the front for easy access. Other ports include an Ethernet jack, HDMI connector, and headphone jack.
Famed Apple leaker Sonny Dickson reports hearing rumors that the M4 Mac mini could launch this week. The rumor mill previously suggested Apple will launch the M4 MacBook Pros, Mac mini, and iMac at an October event.

With the iPad mini 7 debuting via a press release, the new Mac mini might also get the same treatment. And if Apple intends to hold a special M4 Mac launch event next week, the event invites should go live today or tomorrow.
Alleged unboxing videos of the M4 MacBook Pro went live on YouTube in early October, weeks before their official release. They revealed the machine’s updated specs, including hinting at 16GB of RAM being the standard. Unlike the MacBook Pro, though, there have not been any leaks surrounding the Mac mini that reveal its design.
Alongside the new Mac mini and M4 MacBook, Apple should also announce a new Magic Mouse, Trackpad, and Keyboard. References to updated models were found in macOS Sequoia 15.1 RC, hinting at their imminent release. They should ditch the Lightning connector in favor of USB-C, ensuring compliance with an upcoming EU law.
iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 will launch on October 28, so Apple might announce the new Macs before then.
