Apple has posted a guide covering what tools you need to replace the iPhone 16 battery, and a list of other items needed to conduct wider repairs.
The guide, found on Apple’s support site, provides a small list of items you’ll need to make sure you have on hand before you start.
- 9-volt battery
- 9-volt battery clips (923-10726)
- Battery press (923-02657)
- Ethanol wipes or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipes
- Nylon probe (black stick) (922-5065) or suction cup
- Safety glasses with side shields
- Sand
- Sand container
And, as expected, Apple has peppered the entire guide with warnings about the dangers of battery repair. It also suggests users run Repair Assistant, which will finish the repair for select new and used genuine Apple parts.
A secondary tool list prepares you for all the tools you’ll need for iPhone 16 repairs in general. This list includes:
