ios – Will Apple’s policy changes in the EU bring about new sideloading methods?

We all know that apple did some changes to EU on iOS 17 and later version. Reference:https://developer.apple.com/support/dma-and-apps-in-the-eu/

It allows the users in EU to download and install the apps via third party app store and websites.

Between third party app stores and websites, I would like to understand the websites option further, to better study distribution and security. Maybe we may want to consider distributing through the website model in the EU in the future.

I understand that https://developer.apple.com/support/web-distribution-eu/ gives some requirements, such as having an EU registered company to register for Apple Developer Program membership. However, we are trying to understand better before taking some steps.

So I’m wondering what are distribution process, download process and install process like? How does Apple ensure the security in these process? Is it possible for these processes to be imitated by unqualified developers and distribute their (malicious)apps via websites?

Pure technical discussion, no stance.
