Silo will return for a second season on Apple TV+ this fall. Apple announced the premiere date for season two of the popular sci-fi series Saturday at Comic-Con International. In addition, we also learned that Steve Zahn (War for the Planet of the Apes) joined the Silo cast.
Silo season 2 is only a few months away
Silo focuses on the last people on Earth. They live in a massive underground structure — shockingly, it’s known as the silo — that protects them from the toxic conditions on the planet’s surface. Slowly, they discover there’s more to their predicament than meets the eye.
Season one ranked as one of the most popular series on any streaming service, and it earned an 88% critics approval rating on review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. So it’s no surprise that Apple TV+ is bringing Silo back for a second season. Especially as the series is based on the bestselling books by Hugh Howey and there’s still plenty of material to mine from the novels.
During a Saturday panel dedicated to Silo at Comic-Con International, Apple revealed season two would premiere Friday, November 15. The streamer will release one episode that day, then dribble out one a week for the 10-episode season.
Fresh episodes would have appeared sooner but production was hindered by the actors’ and writers’ strikes in 2023.
A new star deep underground
Steve Zahn took part in the Comic-Con panel because he’s part of the new season. He previously appeared in The White Lotus and Sahara. He’ll join returning cast members from the first season cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins and Common.
Watching Silo season two plus many other series or films comes with a subscription to Apple TV+. The service costs $9.99 per month with a seven-day free trial. You can also get it via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
And Apple’s streaming video service also includes much more, of course. There’s a library of drama, comedies, musicals, children’s shows, nature documentaries, etc.
Those who want to get caught up can binge-watch Silo season one now.
